The East Millstone First Aid Squad provides Basic Life Support (BLS) Emergency Medical Services (EMS) to Franklin Township and Millstone Boro. We are an all volunteer organization, 100% supported by donations. We do not charge for our services which we provide 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year (sometimes 366!). 2011 marks our 64th year in operation!

We are dispatched by the Franklin Township Police Department for 911 calls in Franklin Township and Somerset County Emergency Services Dispatchers for 911 calls in Millstone Boro. We are members of the NJ State First Aid Council's Fifth District.

In 2010 we responded to approximately 600 calls. 336 of those calls were daytime calls, 370 medical emergencies, 144 traumatic injuries, 38 Fire Department calls, 124 of our patients were treated by M.I.C.U. Mobile Intensive Care Units. We put 9669 miles on our rigs and our volunteers put in 3,400 hours of service. 2011 seems to be much busier and as our township grows, our call volumes are increasing.

We have a wonderful group of members and we participate in numerous community activities. We proudly serve Franklin Township and Millstone Boro and surrounding areas whenever needed. We have responded to several Statewide Emergencies when needed. Most of our members work full time and volunteer whenever they can. We are lucky to have several members who can respond during the daytime hours. There certainly is never a dull moment around here! One minute you're cleaning out a flooded building and then the tones go off, and you're off responding to a 911 call. It's fun, it's exciting, it gives you a wonderful feeling inside when you can help a neighbor in need.

Our Squad headquarters is unfortunately built on a floodplain of the Millstone River and the D&R Canal. Many times over the past 64 years, we have seen our building flooded, and we have worked diligently to restore and repair it so we can continue to serve you. This t...ime, Irene has dealt a devasting blow from which we might not be able to recover. We are currently operating out of two firehouses, Millstone Valley and Middlebush, and we are still taking all of our emergency calls.
