100% Volunteer, 100% Professional, 24/7
The East Millstone First Aid Squad provides Basic Life Support (BLS) Emergency Medical Services (EMS) to Franklin Township and Millstone Boro. We are an all volunteer organization, 100% supported by donations. We do not charge for our services which we provide 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year (sometimes 366!). 2008 marks the start of our sixty-first year of service and we are still going strong.
We are always looking for new members to join us, click here for details.
We are dispatched by the Franklin Township Police Department for calls in Franklin Township and Somerset County Emergency Services Dispatchers for calls in Millstone Boro. We are members of the NJ State First Aid Council's Fifth District.
In 2009 we responded to 683 calls. 112 of those were motor vehicle collisions, 80 injuries from a fall, 69 breathing problems, 59 cardiac and 59 fire department support calls. 407 of those calls we daytime calls between 6AM and 8PM. Our busiest hour was 7PM followed by 5PM and 8PM. We responded to 20 mutual aid calls for our fellow volunteer squads and 88 mutual aid calls for paid squads. We put 9932 miles on our rigs and our volunteers put in 3,500 hours of service responding to these calls. 2009 continued the trend of ever increasing requests for service. 2010 so far looks like it will continue this trend.
